This is the Chau mask of Goddess Durga, with pink and green crown projections. Beautiful golden-colored face to carve out the facial expressions sharply. This mask is colorfully painted with 100% natural dye. The eye and nose areas have holes to enable vision and breathing. Finally, the masks are decorated with zari and other adornments. This is a Goddes design face mask made by a local artisan from Purulia West Bengal. The very unique and traditional form of art is going to end. Some of the families still engage in this craft to earn their livelihood. Paper, mud, and clay are used to make these masks. The masks are painted in pastel shades and have a frank, simple, and bold look. The eyebrows, mouth, and eyes are painted to give those special effects and give completeness to the looks of the masks
